Winter can be wonderful by celebrating holidays, the New Year, catching up with family and friends we don't see often and all the winter sports! But winter also comes with sitting by the warm fireplace, school snow days, snowstorms, black ice and well just ice, cars that won't start, snow plowing and we can't forget just the bitter cold of it all! I never got too much into the winter sports, I just really don't like the cold but I love the snow especially when we get enough to have snowball fights, snow angels and building snowmen and the beauty of it on the trees! When you are a homeowner and own vehicles there are other things that you stress over - for me that is making sure that the snow doesn't accumulate too much on our roof- because the heaviness of it isn't good for it. How about the icicles and knocking them down and then putting out salt so no one falls, shoveling or plowing the driveway or even a spot for your pets to go potty! For the most part, I enjoy driving in the winter. I remember when I first started as an agent I would drive from Centreville MI to Goshen daily and in 2013 we had a lot of snow and I would get to the office very early so I generally was the first one on those back-roads paving the way for other drivers to come, I never loved my 4x4 Ford Expedition more than on those days! Now, with older kids the worry that comes with them driving and that dreaded phone call but I do reserve the sense of security knowing that I have State Farm!
